One of your final steps would be to get an extamate or bid on your project. Before doing this, it would be helpful for the person bidding on your job to have some rough measurements of the area where your new countertop would go. You do not have to get 100% accurate, just ROUGH measurements.
Use your tape measure and measure the length of each countertop in feet. Draw a sketch of your kitchen or bathroom and put these measurements on the floor plan you sketched. Be sure to include in your sketch, where your sink is, where the fridge is, and stove.
Take your sketch with your measurements to a local countertop dealer, (such as The Carpenter's Shop on 2617 May Lane, La Grande OR, 97850) so that they can give you a price for your project!
See that is all there is to it! :)
Don't be overwhelemd by all of the choices, be glad that there are choices for every style and taste.
